Draft gas systems

CO₂ Regulators, Manifolds and Gas Hardware

Choose compatible CO₂ regulators and inspect used gauges, valves, threads and pressure-relief components.

CO₂ Regulators, Manifolds and Gas Hardware illustration

A regulator controls pressure between the gas cylinder and keg. Reliability, correct thread standards, pressure range and serviceable gauges matter more than shiny finishes.

Buy the complete workflow, not the most impressive isolated component. Missing adapters, seals, power requirements and cleaning access are part of the real price.

Primary and secondary regulation solve different needs

A primary regulator reduces cylinder pressure. Secondary regulators allow different serving pressures downstream. Manifolds split one regulated pressure but do not independently control each outlet.

Threads and fittings require verification

Gas hardware varies by market and manufacturer. Confirm cylinder connection, outlet thread, check valves, barbs and disconnect type. Do not force similar-looking threads.

Inspect used regulators conservatively

Bent gauge needles, cracked lenses, corroded bodies and improvised adapters are warning signs. Unknown pressure hardware may require professional service or replacement.

Search exact rebuild support

High-quality regulators can justify rebuilding. Search eBay for diaphragms, seats, gauges and branded kits before buying. Cheap unsupported regulators are often better replaced than repaired.

A practical inspection checklist

  • Confirm capacity, dimensions, model number and included parts.
  • Photograph labels, plugs, fittings, valves and sealing surfaces.
  • Price missing or questionable components before buying.
  • Compare delivered cost against completed sales.
  • Replace unknown tubing, worn seals and damaged food-contact parts.
