Kegerator Conversion Equipment

Plan a kegerator conversion around refrigerator dimensions, keg count, tower or collar layout and serviceable draft parts.

A kegerator conversion succeeds when the cold space, keg dimensions, gas routing and faucet layout are planned together. Conversion kits are convenient only when their components match the refrigerator and keg system.

Buy the complete workflow, not the most impressive isolated component. Missing adapters, seals, power requirements and cleaning access are part of the real price.

Measure with real keg dimensions

Interior volume specifications do not show shelf rails, compressor humps or door molding. Measure keg diameter, height with disconnects and the space needed to connect lines.

Avoid blind drilling

Refrigeration lines may run through cabinet walls or tops. Consult manufacturer information and proven model-specific conversions. A bargain refrigerator is not valuable if drilling damages the cooling system.

Evaluate kit quality component by component

Faucets, shanks, tubing, clamps and regulators vary widely. A low-priced kit may still be useful, but price the parts you would immediately replace.

Used complete kegerators versus conversion

Completed-sale comparisons can show whether a finished used unit is cheaper than a refrigerator plus hardware. Check cleanliness, cooling performance, door seals, tower insulation and availability of replacement parts.

A practical inspection checklist

  • Confirm capacity, dimensions, model number and included parts.
  • Photograph labels, plugs, fittings, valves and sealing surfaces.
  • Price missing or questionable components before buying.
  • Compare delivered cost against completed sales.
  • Replace unknown tubing, worn seals and damaged food-contact parts.
